makes more sense now
i just watched 'The Way of the Gun' after 'Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid' and i gotta say, 'The Way of the Gun' makes a little more sense now. 'Gun' is basically a retelling of 'Butch' (at the beginning Phillipe even mentions that he will be called 'Mr. Parker and Del Toro will be called 'Mr. Longbaugh'). i still don't know what edutacate means.
also, the security officer from 'Mallrats' (LaFours), is also a 'Butch' homage, down to the straw hat and everything.

so here i am...
some of you may have noticed my absence on your blogs (most of you don't care). here's my excuse: i go to school. i go to work. i do homework. whatever little time is left to me, i would rather spend it with Sam instead of reading about your days (no offense meant). i plan on trying to catch up on weekends, though.
same goes with this blog, actually. it'll be a rare day when i post during the week, but come the weekend, expect a flurry (maybe).
but on to other exciting things:
my birthday party was a smashing success. Tim started the soiree by showing up at 2pm. we played FIFA World Cup soccer on the PS2 until Halifax showed up. Dan, Erinesque, N., ET, and Jay all showed up later on. now a run down of gifts:
Tim: a bottle of tequila and the lending of his FIFA game (i'm taking Mexico to the World Cup, baby!)
Jay: a bottle of Rum
N. and Erinesque: a bottle of wine (which they ended up drinking because i dislike wine, but it's the thought that counts)
ET: a Donald Duck action figure
Halifax: a book on Samurai battle techniques (you're going down N.!)
mom: a check for $100 US (i don't know what to get for myself)
little brother (projected): 'Clerks' and 'Chasing Amy' dvds to finish my Kevin Smith collection.
this Saturday, Sam and i are going shopping so i can spend these $100 US.
Treatise on Valentine's Day: is it not just another birthday for women? i'm rampantly trying to figure out what to do tomorrow, as i'm sure many men are, while my woman reads books. it once again falls to me to figure out something romantic to do on that day.
Valentine's Day plans: dinner and a movie (possibly Daredevil), with a side of gift-giving(help!).

four things
1. funniest commercial ever. Verne Troyer (Mini-Me) and the new 8-foot tall Chinese basketball player get on an airplane. Mini-Me pulls out the biggest Apple laptop ever made, while the basketball player pulls out the new tiny Apple laptop. it was hilarious.
2. Sam called me from an anime store to make me make the most excruciating choice of my life. she told me that boxed sets of Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and all the works (excepting 'Spirited Away') of Studio Ghibli were there. and they were all on DVD. she told me to choose one. i nearly peed my pants. then she said, "fine, get two." i decided on Cowboy Bebop because that was my original intention, and the Studio Ghibli boxed set, because you guys keep saying great things about them. i had seen Trigun already, so i decided to wait until i went to Singapore with Sam during the summer (that was a lot of 'S' words) to get it. as for NGE, Sam got it for Erinesque (as per Erinesque's request), so i will be asking to borrow it sometime in the future.
3. i hereby apologize to Erinesque for calling her a Nazi.
4. my Dork Trivia questions kicked so much ass (everybody said so), that i am reprinting them here, for your perusing pleasure (answers are underlined; also notice my one X-men related question). i basically took the N. style, but they weren't anywhere near as hard:
UPDATE: as soon as i figure out this damn 'extended entry' thing, i'll post the questions.

"A day that will live in infamy."
yesterday night was the worst night in blogging history ever. apparently, Sam's server went down, which meant that not only Sam's blog was down, but so was mine, ET's, and the OctoLounge (being all housed on the same machine). also last night, the blogspot people's (Kerry and Phil X) comments didn't work. and it didn't end there because this morning, Maggie's server, which houses her and Erinesque's blogs, as well as JerkSquad!!, was very slow. gah! it is a plague upon the bloggers! gah!
in other news, Lancelot and Gawain are gay. more on this later.

explaining my goddamn self
if, and when (because it will happen), i get angry enough at you to call you an asshole or any other fucking thing, that is me venting. i will call you an asshole, or a bastard, or possibly wish rape on you when i'm angry because (surprise, surprise) i don't think before speaking (or typing, as it where) when i'm angry. also, i am quick to anger, especially on topics i feel strongly about (i have to work on this). but after i've cooled down, i will apologize, privately or publicly (as was seen when i apologized to Rick for wishing rape upon him). but hounding me about it, or worse, hounding me for doing it to someone else, is just going to keep me pissed off and in an unthinking way.
therefore, if i have offended you whilst angry, take no heed. i was talking out of my ass, and chances are you did something to piss me off. this is no excuse, but it is a reason. do not hound, for your apology shall come in due time. i acknowledge the fact that i have a short temper and that i say and do things i shouldn't. this is my problem, and i've been working on it since i learned to talk. i used to be much worse.
that said, i hereby publicly apologize to N. for calling him an asshole. twice. once Erinesque gets off my back, i'll apologize to her for calling her a Nazi. until then, unthinking anger reigns.

my birthday
this Saturday, February 8th, you are invited to spend some quality time with adan jimenez as he begrudgingly makes his way to his twentieth birthday.
some events slated for this auspicious occasion include, but are not limited to:
the viewing of 'Inchon' (Inchon!).
a roundtable discussion on why Newsweek is a better magazine than Time.
an Alternity one-shot (if Halifax gets off his ass and writes it already).
ridiculing N. for playing DDR (just kidding, Erin).
adan breaking down and blubbering like a schoolgirl as the pressures of life break him like a very tired Batman (not guaranteed, but very possible).
the usual amount of zaniness present in these things.
things to bring:
yourselves (help each other out if one of you gets caught in a bear trap or something).
junk food (chips, cookies, the blood of virgins, basic club stuff).
alcohol (but only if a)you can afford it and b) you are not morally against it; although it would be cool to get a bottle of Jack Daniels from Rick).
presents (not required at all, but very, very welcome).
adan will be home that entire day, so show up when you like, but we will need enough time to view 'Inchon' (Inchon!); adan hears it's over two hours long. and, if Rick shows up by then, adan would like to start it by nine or so.
please RSVP on the comments area (mostly so i know how many chairs to fix by Saturday).

why Sam is like a drug
because when she is taken away from me, this happens:
i can't talk all that well.
i forget how to spell words.
i forget other, more important things.
i listen to sad songs.
i can't sleep.
i think horrible thoughts.
i get depressed.
i feel the need to drink to cheer me up.
i fall apart.
